LightBox Interactive was founded in 2009 by a number of ex-Incognito Entertainment developers who had previously worked on PlayStation gems Twisted Metal:Black, War of the Monsters, Warhawk and Starhawk. Somewhat in line with the latter, the studio has just announced a great looking space combat title called PlunderNauts. Sporting fast-paced, 3D, ship-to-ship combat as you plunder your way through the universe customising your spaceship, it has an 80's cartoon aesthetic and appears to make great use of the touchscreen controls.

The game is due out in Q2 2014 unless you are in Canada, in which case you can get in on the soft-launch now by grabbing the game here. We like the pedigree in this studio, as Warhawk (in particular) was well ahead of its time and Starhawk was a very underrated - or at least underplayed - game. Enjoy the trailer below:
