Avoid Sensory Overload Deep-Fries Flappy Bird

While the world was going bonkers over Flappy Bird, we stumbled on a little gem called Avoid Sensory Overload that fans of high scores should definitely check out. In fact, we're enjoying it a lot more than that fried, consumer and now expelled flapper. It’s seriously addictive and, on the extreme difficulty, seriously hard. Somewhat in the vein of Boson X or Temple Run, you’re endlessly flying forwards through a 3D world dodging obstacles in a little spacecraft, but that’s where the comparisons stop.

The electronic beats and sharp disco-like aesthetic put you in a trance (ravers beware), while each short burst of play controls well and can be enjoyed by anyone. The mix of randomly generated layouts and useful power-ups seems to always challenge your reflexes and quick thinking, baiting you into dangerous dives into harm’s way for goodies that can improve your score. A textbook “easy to pick up, hard to master” score chaser… with a sense of rhythm.

The game costs 99c for the initial course, and there are two more you can pick up for 99c each if you want to expand into new songs and styles. You can grab the game here on iPad, or grab it here on iPhone

As part of the celebrations for the launch of Issue 1 of Grab It Indie Games Magazine, we are hosting a high score challenge for Avoid Sensory Overload – you can find more info here on how to enter.
